My fiancee and I are getting married in Puerto Vallarta in November, but we don't want to go through the hassle of getting a marriage certificate in Mexico, so my fiancee has proposed this idea. We would pick up our marriage license next Friday, the 9th anniversary of our first date, and we would take it to the friend who introduced us (who is conveniently a mail-order officiant) and he would perform the legal ceremony in his record store, which is where we met. How does this sound? Right now we're in the throes of some intense wedding planning, so I'm a bit cloudy of mind ... is this a good idea?
